Mortgage adviser in Hale and Bowdon

Hale, Hale Barns and Bowdon have some of the most expensive homes in Greater Manchester, and loans here can be bigger than most lenders will lend. My office is in Hale, so this is very much my local area.

  • Based in Hale
  • Larger loans, including over £1 million
  • Company directors and high earners
  • No broker fee on loans of £400,000 and above

Buying in Hale and Bowdon

Bowdon is known for its large Victorian and Edwardian houses, much of it in a conservation area. Hale has the shops and restaurants on Ashley Road and its own railway station, and Hale Barns has many of the area's larger modern detached homes. With the grammar schools, the Metrolink at Altrincham and the airport close by, demand rarely drops.

Larger loans

Many purchases here involve loans well above the average, and the number of lenders falls as the loan gets bigger. Most also cap the loan to value on larger loans, so the deposit you need goes up. If your income includes bonuses, dividends or retained profit, choosing the right lender matters even more.

Where it makes sense, I'll also look at private banks, which can be more flexible for clients with significant assets.

Period and listed homes

Some lenders are cautious with listed buildings and homes with unusual construction, and the valuation can take longer. I'll check a lender is happy with the property type before we apply, so you're not caught out halfway through.

Meeting in person

I'm happy to meet you in person, at my office, at home or somewhere convenient, or we can do everything by phone, video and email if that's easier.

Adam has been an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout my house purchase as a first-time buyer. He went above and beyond to find the best possible interest rate for me and was always on hand to answer any questions I had about the mortgage application process, no matter how big or small. Buying my first home on my own could have been a confusing and stressful process, but Adam provided invaluable support and guidance throughout. He was always approachable, patient and reassuring, and made sure I understood each step along the way. I’m incredibly grateful for all his help and would highly recommend Adam to anyone looking for a mortgage adviser, particularly other first-time buyers.

Adam provided an excellent remortgage service. We have remortgaged numerous times and this was the best experience yet. Nothing was too much trouble. Adam was quick to respond to our questions and ensured the product was the right one for us. I would definitely work with Adam again in the future and highly recommend his services.

Questions people ask

Will lenders lend over £1 million?

Yes, but fewer of them, and they usually need a larger deposit and look more closely at your income. Private banks are another option for some clients.

Can I borrow more to extend or renovate?

Often, yes. You can usually borrow more from your current lender or remortgage to a new one, depending on your income and how much equity you have. I'll compare both.

Can I take my current mortgage with me when I move?

Most mortgages can be moved to a new property, which avoids early repayment charges. It isn't always the cheapest option, so I'll compare it with a new mortgage.
